Symbolism - Lord of the Flies

The water washes the blood away and makes the body pure, and the light represents that he has been made holy like Jesus. Simon's personality is the most genuine throughout the story and reveals his true consecrated disposition. .
Lord of the Flies is the name of the sow's head that is cut off and staked into the ground as an offering to the beast. The pig's head is the satanic figure that causes the unsullied character to have hallucinations about the Lord of the Flies, who is talking to him. Similarly to Simon's thought about the beast being the darkness inside each human being, the Lord of the Flies agrees with Simon, and that the other boys "thinking the Beast was something you could hunt and kill" (Golding 143) is a ridiculous thought to him. In addition to being just a figment of Simon's imagination, the Lord of the Flies has enough demonic power to control him and to be in charge of Jack's tribe. On the contrary to having enough power, the Lord of the Flies comes to symbolize the instinct of dictatorship when he explains to Simon that he is "the reason why it's no go? Why things are what they are" (Golding 143); moreover, it seems the Lord of the Flies is the reason why the boys have not been rescued, and he is the reason for all of the commotion. Consequently to Simon's insecurities about himself and the lack of support he has, the Lord of the Flies had a strong influence over his mind. The more the Lord of the Flies spoke to Simon, the more Simon grew weak and "found he was looking into a vast mouth. There was blackness within, a blackness that spread [Then] Simon was inside the mouth. He fell down and lost consciousness" (Golding 144). As a result of the Lord of the Flies influencing Simon, he becomes weak and passes out. In other words, the mind can be a deceitful root of any problem if power overtakes the mind. .
The beast is what causes the boy's fear by representing evil and darkness that exists within mankind.
