My Red-Eye Flight

When I was 14 years old I received a letter from the PTPSAP asking me to travel to Australia with them for 6 months, and I was very happy. The PTPSAP is an organization that allows smart students to travel the world to different countries. We got to travel as student ambassadors and represent not only our home state but America as well. This organization allows students as young as 12 years old to travel and represent themselves in countries. .
I decided to take the opportunity and travel to Australia. In the beginning, I did not know any of the other students that were traveling with me. But by the end of the trip I knew every single 1 of them. Before we left for our long journey, we spent a lot of time in meetings discussing what we were going to do while we were gone. Additionally, we constructed projects that focused on the landmarks that we would be seeing. For 1 of my projects I built a model of the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Opera House Learning about the variety of places to visit, as well as the places I knew I would see before I went made the trip more exciting. Beneficially, I knew more about where I was living, and the views that surrounded me, which helped when trying to get around. .
Packing was my favorite part of the trip that had not even begun because it got me so excited to know that I was about to travel to another country, and experience a different part of the world. Being so young was even better because I did not know what I should expect going across the country without my parents or any of my family members to guide me. The day of my flight I was jumping with joy. My flight left early on Thursday morning of August 7th, 2011 in the United States and we landed Thursday August 7th, around 8 pm in Australia, as it is a 24 hour difference while it was nighttime in Australia. This flight was more than 24 hours and we were not allowed to go to sleep. That was really tough because we were sitting in the same place for a day.
