Video Games as a Sport

Video games have moved past a trend or a fad of the late 1990's and early 2000's. There is clearly something going on with video games. Should video games be considered a sport? The earliest known video game competition took place on October 19, 1972 at Stanford University for the game Spacewar. Stanford students were invited to an "Intergalactic spacewar olympics" and the grand prize was a year's subscription for Rolling Stone.
Chess, Bowling, Golf, Poker and stock car racing are all considered sports. The main thing that they all have in common is skill. You need to be determined and practice at whatever skill you need for the sport you're playing. Counter Strike Global Offensive (csgo), is a huge competitive platform for Esports players.
