Dividend policy refers to a set of procedures that are established for a company towards sharing its profits realized among its shareholders using a concrete procedure developed and consented to under legal review and considerations. The shareholders are always entitled to benefits so long as the organization is making profits within the timeframe of its operations. However, the procedure with which the benefits are shared is drafted and assented to by the management with the consent of the stakeholders to the company (Lehmann & National Bureau of Economic Research. 1991). The following represents a dividend policy and execution for a company called Missouri Hospital (Private) which is a hypothetical company. .
(i) Introduction to the Organization.
The hospital was designed and developed by community volunteers as makeshift solutions to high prevalence of maternal mortality to address a range of complex and critical care requirements unique to the Community. The Hospital is helping to address the region's most pressing healthcare needs through the creation of specialist healthcare facilities, building regional capability and stimulating the overall development of the sector. Missouri also have five Centers of Excellence apart from maternal care in the following Institutes: Heart & Vascular, Neurological, Digestive Disease, Eye and Respiratory & Critical Care. Plans are also underway to establish Surgical Subspecialties, Medical Subspecialties, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Imaging, and Quality & Patient Safety. In all, more than 30 medical and surgical specialties are represented at Missouri Health Facility.
