Even though it might doesn't sound like the most the most environmental friendly thing to do, my idea is to make posters with some catchy messages regarding putting paper with paper, plastic with plastic etc. Yes, we should avoid waste of paper, but since we will use it for a good cause, I think it is justified. Since most people are visualists, including me, if we make a good and creative poster with an interesting, catchy message that still captures the essence of our idea, I am sure it will catch their eye and hopefully lay somewhere in their consciousness so they will not throw trash everywhere just for the sake of it. We could put this on the main doors of both buildings A and B and also cafeteria doors, since these places have the highest traffic. Maybe we could use recycled paper specially for this, to give it even a better effect. The chances are high that many people will still neglect it, but we if we get attention of at least 30% students, I think it's still a good beginning. .
The problem is that we don't have cans at our university which are made separately for paper and plastic, therefore we should probably try to get these trash cans first and then put those posters over he university in order to raise the awareness. It is pointless to put those posters and people read it, but still have nowhere to put plastic and paper separately. So, we need to find maybe a firm or something which could give us those trash cans and I believe that could be one major step in raising the awareness. In addition, if we really manage to get those trash cans and make posters, we could emphasize this action on our presentation at IUS which could take place on the International Earth Day on April 22nd. .

Concerning this, I was thinking how we could hand out the environmental survey to the students the week before the Earth Day, so we could do a presentation on 22nd April which would include results of our research and would also give us better information and therefore, we would be prepared much better.
