Psychology Class

This semester I began my first ever college course. I enrolled in PCC and took general psychology. So far it has been a wonderful experience, psychology is a very interesting field and my professor Ms. Mcleod is very knowledgeable. She has been in the field for at least 20 years now so I believe she knows what she is talking about. The study of the mind has been fantastic, and is helping me understand people more and more. The way they act, think, and feel, or the way they will react to my actions. The more one knows about things like this, the easier life will be when dealing with new people, and people in general. .
Speaking of people, the fun is not only the class, but the people in the class as well. I get to meet all kinds of people of different ages and backgrounds. The class is about 35 people and only about 3 others are high school students. Probably around 15 are young college students, and the rest are people age 30 and up. Talking with them has opened my eyes to some key facts that I would have been ignorant to if I had not taken this class. For one, in high school everyone thinks a 4-year university is the only option, like that is what you are supposed to do. Well I have learned that certainly is not the case, most people in the psychology class, having no plans of a 4-year school, have opened my eyes. It has also shown me that high school, while boring and painful, shapes my entire future and I will just have to put up with it if I want to be a successful person. .
The class compared to a high school class is somewhat different. First, it is nice to have people with me who want to learn, and no one disrupting the class every five minutes like in some high school classes. Also it has almost no mandatory homework, so each student can decide how much he or she needs to look over the material. What a concept! I only wish all teachers could understand that some students just don't need to do the unnecessary assignments that are a waste of everyone's time.
