Adidas is a multi-billion dollar company that manufactures clothing, shoes, and accessories focusing on athletic sportswear. This company based from Germany is very well known and is popular all over the world. Adidas is the largest sportswear company in Europe and second biggest world wide right after Nike. This company, which has been around for over sixty years, is a well-known company which three line parallel logo could be recognized by nearly anyone all across the world. Adidas does a great job with advertisement and manufacturing for specific athletics. That is what lead to Adidas major success, especially within the last twenty years. Even though it is not the biggest athletic company in the world, this billion dollar corporation has had a lot of success and is only prospected to grow bigger within the near future. .
Adidas was found in 1949 by Adolf Dassler who was born September 3, 1900. As a young boy he always had an interest in shoe production since his father also worked in a shoe factory. At a young age Adolf started producing his own sport shoes in his mother's laundry after his return from World War 1. Ever since a young age Adolf knew that he wanted to always do something that involved the production shoes, since he always enjoyed making a creating shoes specially designed for people of many different ages and of course both men and also women. For the 1936 Olympics Adolf crafted many sport shoes which was worn at these summer Olympics held in his home country in the city of Berlin. Jesse Owens wore shoes that was equipped by Mr. Dassler, who ended up winning four gold medals for the USA team. This is what believed to lay the foundation of his company and what gave the boost to him and his positive reputation. Even though this company was started by Adolf and his brother Rudolf, his brother soon left him to start his own business which left him primarily by himself. Rudolf wanted to start his own shoe business named Puma, which is also a very well-known company that is still around today which also a billion dollar company.
