On June 29, 2007, the Apple Company released their first iPhone. Later that same year, Android Incorporated had the unveiling of Android distribution. Both companies have been in major competition ever since. The fist iPhone ever released was on June 28, 2007. So far, Apple Company has released 5 iPhones. iPhone, iPhone 3g, iPhone 3gs, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4s. The iPhone 5 is also expected to be relased in late 2012. Originally, AT&T was the only carrier that provided service to iPhone, but now Verizon and Sprint provide service to iPhone as well. All of the iPhones run on the same software. It is called iOS (iPhone Operating System) which is made from Mac OS X (Macintosh Operating System, Version 10). There are two colors for iPhones; black and white. iPhones are made in the United States, but they are sold in over 70 different countries worldwide.
Every time an iPhone is released, there is always an improvement in the phone. The first iPhone was released in small sizes, 4GB and 8GB. For a lot of people that is not enough space. The iPhone can hold music from your personal computer, so Apple needed to make a larger size, which was 16GB. Then the iPhone 3g was released on July 8, 2008. It came in 8GB and 16GB. Then came the iPhone 3gs which came in 16GB and 32GB. However, on this iPhone model, Apple Company improved the navigation, making the navigation on-board which improved the performances and also the camera. It was 3gs with iOS 4.2. iPhone 3gs was the first multi-tasking iPhone. The iPhone came in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB. It was released on June 24, 2010. The iPhone 4 allows you to multi-task. It has an improved camera even more by recording videos, making the camera 5 mega pixels. The newest iPhone, the iPhone 4s, is similar to the iPhone 4, but with more features added. The main feature is Siri. Siri is used to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and much more. You can just say a command and Siri understands and will repeat the command.
