Ethical Standards of a Counselor

"For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controlled, what then?"- George Orwell 1984. This quote by George Orwell incorporates tags such as ethics, logic, metaphysics, ontology, philosophy, and psychology science. These tags play an important role in the life of a counselor because it is important to follow the code of ethics, to be logical in their thinking, to know the art of asking questions and getting answers that are beneficial, and to have a philosophy that will serve as a guide or blue print for the counselor. .

She was escorted to the staff room by the principal to meet the members of staff. She then realized that a number of female teachers dressed inappropriately for work, they were dressed in tight and short clothing. Mrs. Solay was not pleased. She decided to observe the teachers for a month. Over the one month period, it was brought to her attention that a number of female teachers were having sexual relationship with a number of students. Mrs.Solay decided to have a meeting with the teachers. In the meeting the teachers rebelled and they tried to justify their actions by saying that the previous counselor knew about their relationship with students and that she was ok with it, that the students that they were with were of age to give sexual consent and that other staff members were aware of the it they were ok with the situation.
