Diseases

The body can no longer use sugar and starches because the pancreas has stopped producing the hormone insulin. As a result, sugar accumulates in the blood and tissues, causing damage or complication in various parts of the body. Medically, this diseased is known as diabetes mellitus, to distinguish it from the very rare diabetes insipidus. Symptoms include excessive urination (sugar in the blood causes kidneys to produce ridiculous amounts of urine), thirst, loss of body mass, ulcers on feet and disturbances of vision.
             Causes.
             Pancreas fails to produce insulin.
Failure of pancreas may be caused by a constant excess of starch and sugar.
             Viral infections.
             Prevention.
             Avoid being overweight.
Avoid excessive starch and sugar intake.
             Atheroma.
Atheroma is the degeneration of the arteries. Fatty deposits build up and harden on the artery walls. The deposits enlarge causing narrowing of the arteries. At any point where this happens a blood clot (Arterial Thrombosis) may occur.
Atheroma begins in early adulthood and increases with age. This disease is very common in the Western lifestyle and is the chief causes of heart attack and strokes.
Symptoms only occur when the circulation of blood through the body is affected. Symptoms of narrowing arteries include chest pain on exertion (Angina), temporary disturbances of balance, vision, speech and use of arms and legs, and pain in calves when walking. Symptoms of blockages include severe chest pains even when resting, weakness and loss of use in certain limbs, speech difficulties, unconsciousness (Stroke), and severe pain in the affected limb which goes cold and pale.
             Causes.

Diet is considered to be largely responsible.
             Prevention.

             Exercise regularly throughout life.
             Avoid overeating.
Keep a good diet by: Eating free range meat only.
Eating plenty of potatoes, wholemeal flour, beans and peas.
