"The definition for a business owner is an individual or entity who owns a business entity in an attempt to profit from the successful operations of the company. Generally has decision making abilities and first right to profit."[ CITATION bus14 l 1033 ] This is not exactly what I think or see when it comes to being a small business owner, but it is worth the risk, right? Being a small business owner is not what I thought I wanted to do for the rest of my life, but over the course of my life, there have been many obstacles that have brought me to this huge decision of wanting to be a small business owner. Making this decision, I will have to figure out what kind of small business owner I want to be, the responsibilities that I will have, and why I want to become a small business owner. .
Figuring out what kind of small business owner I want to be was not very easy, since I did not know what I want to be for the rest of my life. Then it hit me; I want to own my own Bakery! It was not until my twenty- first birthday that I figured this out, and the only reason I did figure this out was because my mom and I made some margarita cupcakes for my birthday and they ended up being a big hit when people tried them. Also, another thing that made me realize this was when I brought homemade Monster cookies to school one day and ever since then people have been asking me when I am going to bring some more in for them to have. Seeing people like my mom and I's baking has made this dream be able to come out and be a possibility of a reality one day soon. .
There are many responsibilities for being a small business owner. First, there is planning and strategy in the startup of any business; it only makes since to have a marketing and business plan in place [ CITATION Liu14 l 1033 ]. Another responsibility for a small business owner is a legal responsibility. Legal responsibilities are not just for the business themselves, but also for the community.
