In the poem Nikki-Rosa by Nikki, the narrator reflects back on her youthful life which was full of poverty but full of happiness at the same time. The narrator's happiness was based on the bond in her family. The family stayed together and did everything together regardless of their poor conditions. They loved each other and were close to each other no matter the challenge.
