Teamwork

In this assignment I am going to describe the influence of teamwork for successful performance. I will pick two contrasting sporting activities and pick out points on how teamwork has worked for them. .
             TOGETHER.
             EVERYONE.
             ACHIEVES.
             MORE.
The most obvious team in football who have been successful in the last decade is Manchester United. They have built up a reputation as being one of the most feared teams in world football. This is all down to a number of things, but the one thing that does stick out is in any united team is teamwork they know their tasks as soon as they step onto the pitch and how to complete it successfully. This really became evident in the 1999 European cup final when United were 1-0 down for most of the match until the last minute when they equalised to make it 1-1, with a goal from sub Teddy Sheringham, with 3 minutes of injury time to play united done the unthinkable for most of the match and grabbed the winner from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer another substitute. It was one of the greatest comebacks ever in European club football. In that year united won the treble. They wouldn't have been able to do it without their enormous teamwork they go though. This game also showed the importance of substitutes it's not just the eleven players on the pitch it's the whole squad who does their bit for the team. An example of an unsuccessful team is a team of individuals who aren't willing to work together and who don't get on with one another. An example of an unsuccessful team this season is Sunderland due to a number of reasons. This season has been a disaster for Sunderland they have been relegated to division 1 and had their manager sacked during the season, which hasn't helped them it has affected their performance on the pitch, the players have been working as individuals rather than a team, this is an example of how things can go wrong once Sunderland were a strong team in the premiership, now they are looking at division 1 football next season.
