Rudy

Rudy was an inspirational story of a boy who was a diehard Notre Dame Fighting Irish fanatic. His main goal in life was not only to go to Notre Dame, but to one day be able to play football for the Fighting Irish.
One of the main points in this film was goal setting. It is very important in life to set goals for yourself that you want to accomplish. Rudy's first goal was to be a great High School football player, which he was. He accomplished his goal by having a lot of heart and never giving up. He was not the fastest or the strongest player on the team but had enough heart to lead the team in tackles.
His second goal was to get into Notre Dame after he graduated High School. This goal had many more setbacks than he had hoped for. His grades were not good enough to get him into Notre Dame. That led to his third goal.
His third goal was to get a high enough GPA in a South Bend Junior College. So he attended the Junior College of Holy Cross. It was as close to Notre Dame as he could get at the time. Rudy was so confident in himself, that he took a job as a groundskeeper at Notre Dame Stadium so that he could get used to the field surface that he someday, would be playing on. After many letters from Notre Dame saying his grades were not good enough to get him into the college, in his final semester at Holy Cross, he received a letter from the University of Notre Dame saying that he was accepted into the school. He was so proud of himself, he went back home to show his dad, who was also a diehard Irish fan. .
Rudy's fourth goal was to be on the Notre dame football teams scout team. It took a lot of heart to do what he did. He was definitely the smallest guy out there, but he had the heart 10 times that of anyone there. He made the team and was so proud of himself. The head coach promised Rudy that he would dress for at least one game during the season. Unfortunately, that coach resigned from the team.
