Into the Wild

My thesis statement tells about Krakauer's obsession and how I will discuss it throughout the paper. I tried to make my paper interesting by consistently throughout the paper drawing back to how all of mankind goes through this questioning of their own life. Krakauer also does this in the book by using examples of other people's journeys and those of his own. .
My question was why did Krakauer become so concerned and intrigued by the life of Chris McCandless. My thesis statement was how Krakauer examines his feelings about McCandless's unconventional life; however, his curiosity quickly escalates into an obsession. I arrived with my thesis statement after talking with my group, and I realized Krakauer's obsession made this book possible! He brought Chris McCandless's life to black and white after over a year of retracing the convoluted path that led to his demise in the Alaska taiga.
My thesis is arguable because some people would say Krakauer was obsessed and envious, while others might point out how he was just intrigued and justifiable for bringing the otherwise forgotten life of Chris to reality. I also write about how Chris followed his dreams and how others would say he was just a simply arrogant child. Randy helped make my questions a little clearer and more workable. Wrapping it up, I believe everyone should follow Chris's example. Maybe not go as far to the extremes, but take more chances and live life unconventionally and shamelessly. Whether we live to be 20 or 120, we should die with a smile of genuine happiness upon our face. The spirit should leave the body with many stories of outrageous adventures to be told. There are seven continents upon the Earth. It's never too late to begin to live adventurously and with a huge smile upon your face.
Adrenaline begins to pump. Fear and excitement clash while the heart seemingly never misses a beat. The body goes into defense mode, preparing for the worst but hoping for the best- -the best of challenges, the best of heart-stopping, pee-your-pants fear, and the greatest of highs that can only come from fears faced and conquered.
