Personal Best & Personal Worst

I have a lot of traits that many people might consider to be my best and the same with my worst. Most people don't ever consider a good trait being bad as well. Almost any trait can be a double-edged sword. Mine would have to be my dedication/loyalty. .
I've always held others with great dedication in high regard. It's great when a person finds something they can devote themselves to. Some dedicate their lives to helping others while others may become consumed by mere material possessions. It's times like these that you have to look at where all your time and effort is going.
I've always been a dedicated employee. I know it's a feature many employers seek. Whenever I go in for an interview, I always make sure to bring up that I"m a loyal employee. I have no problem putting in extra time and effort in order to make sure the job gets done. A lot of coworkers come in asking for my help to pull them out of the hole they dug. Often I"ll go beyond the scope of my duties just to make sure they won't be coming back needing something else done.
This is where the other edge of the sword comes into play. I end up giving up so much time that I don't have time for anything else like friends and school. Sometimes I may go without a lunch just to make sure the job gets done and I won't have to worry about it anymore. I don't use much of my vacation time either. Most of the time I"ll find myself scrambling to find a date to use some of it before I lose it.
When I used to work at Kinko's as an assistant manager, eighteen to twenty hour days were common for me; I liked the extra money from the overtime. I was also the only person that understood the computer and technical side of the work; I was automatically put in charge of all equipment in the building. I liked this area of my duties, but paid for it as well. For the most part, I was on call 24/7 if there were any technical problems that kept work from being completed.
