Plymouth plantation

William Bradford was an English writer, who wrote, Plymouth Plantation, that told a story about the pilgrims meeting the natives and settling for the first time. Bradford's views were based on his self worth's and in his choicee of words and judgmental opinions came off as being bioist. He showed this by the way he judged the natives. You sometimes have to take a deeper look then just forming opinions right off the bet, because the exterior does not reflect the interior. This is evident when the natives are being described as "savages and barbarians"and creating rules and regulations for the natives to follow, and thinking that Squanto was a "gift from god". All of these opinions formed by Bradford were never looked into a little deeper but formed on a close mind.
" But these savage barbarians when they met with them were readier to fill their sides with arrows then otherwise". In reality Bradford was really close-minded and immediately assumed the worst of the natives. Carrying arrows for the natives weren't on hand to harm the pilgrims, when in fact those bows and arrows were always carried with them (natives) to hunt, and for protection. I believe this because the natives respected all living things and were open minded. They show that they are open minded by actually accepting what to them are "new creatures" on to their land. Bradford in ways said that to discredit the natives because of their "exterior" appearance and their way of life.
Regulations were required for the natives to follow and were set out but the pilgrims. They made them agree to this so there wouldn't be any conflicts between cultures. These pilgrims come off as being hypercritical. This is evident because the pilgrims left England because of the rules and religion and cultural persecution. Therefore because of all of that they came to America for religious and cultural freedom, and upon settling they wanted the natives to change their way of life.
