People move from all around the country, whether by plane, boat, car, bus or train. England is slowly becoming a tourist honey pot for people all over the world!!.
As we all know, the movement of people from one specific area to another is called migration. However, when tourists visit our beautiful country, they only often stay for a few weeks and return to their own homes. This is what many of the coastal areas of England thrive on . TOURISM!! Nowadays people move further away from home for their holidays because of a more modern way of life. Many years ago, if people wanted a holiday they would very rarely travel abroad to enjoy themselves. It would have been a small distance away from home, just large enough to escape from the normality of their typical environment. Perhaps to a neighbouring county like Devon.
The aim for my coursework is to show, in a variety of ways, the movement of tourists within St.Ives, Cornwall. My research will include; where the tourists have come from, how long they are staying for, and several questions about the mode of transport they used to visit. I will also be using a comparative study. This will be:.
"Does the movement of tourists to St.Ives, increase or decrease in winter?".
This comparative study will be helped by the aid of the Cornish tourist board, and several personally made questionnaires.
Within my coursework I hope to include a large variety of information about St.Ives and show, using figures, tables and graphs the movement of tourists from various areas to St.Ives.
