Pearl harbor the movie

The movie I choose for the movie assignment was called "From Here To Eternity". I choose this movie because it was in the time period of when Pearl Harbor got boomed. This movie was briefly about a look at military life at Pearl Harbor before and after the 1941 attack. The whole movie itself was kind of a love story. It reminded me a lot of the movie Pearl Harbor. The movie showed life how it was lived on a base in Hawaii in the time period. There was an officer who fell in love with a general's wife. Moreover, there was this other man who fell in love with a woman and died when he went to fight the Japanese. .
The main message I got from the movie was that it tried showing the interest people had in the army. These men were die hard for their country and did what ever it took to protect it. Furthermore, the movie showed what it was like to go down town and party when the solders got their time to do so. There was definitely a lot of drinking going on when these men were training. The movie looked really well in that it was set in the perfect scenes and places. The scenes have some really cool shots too. They have the big Hawaiian trees in some shots, and the movie also shows some of the old battle ships that were lost in the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The movie also had some really good actors in it like: Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Deborah Kerr, Donna Reed, "Frank Sinatra", and Ernest Borgnine. The cast in the movie look very young too since the movie was made in 1953. The clothing they wore was perfect for what soldiers and women wore back in the 1930's to the 1940's.
What I got from trying to see the story behind the story was that I don't think that anyone was really wearied about his or her heath. During the whole movie every one was drunk almost the whole time. Furthermore, I think every actor in the movie had a cigarette hanging out of his or her mouth throughout the movie.
