Holocaust: The Discrimination of Many.
The crimes committed against the victims of the Holocaust by the Nazis came from prejudices and racism. Racism and discrimination are terrible acts that can hurt any population. These attitudes or beliefs must be identified and fought against. This paper will show how the Holocaust was a horrible example of how Hitler's reign of power led to the destruction of many people in history. Jews, gypsies, handicapped and homosexuals were sought out and tortured, humiliated and extinguished by the millions. We must never forget what happened during the holocaust so that it will never happen again.
During the holocaust, six million Jews, nearly 2/3 of the entire Jewish population in Europe was exterminated by the Nazis. The means of mass killing most commonly used was the gas chambers. The Nazis used gas vans or automatic weapons to kill most of the prisoners. Poor sanitary conditions, lack of food and forced labor also resulted in many deaths. Towards the end of the war, death marches added to the already growing number of victims. .
Adolf Hitler's reign of terror began in January of 1933. When he was appointed Chancellor of Germany. After losing the First World War, Germany suffered many economic problems. Since many people were unemployed Hitler and his followers were given the opportunity to offer them promises of better lives. With Hitler in power, Germany was now a dictatorship where freedoms were taken away from its citizens. Hitler believed in the theory of the one master race. Blond hair, blue-eyed whites were the master race or the Aryan people. They were superior to all other living beings. Hitler felt the need to eliminate all who did not fit this description. He believed that those who were different from him were to be rid of. .

Jews were not the only targets of Nazi persecution. Nazi hatred extended to include gypsies, handicapped people and homosexuals along with many other groups of people.
