Jews, Discrimination and the Nazi Regime


            Adolf Hitler was born in Braunau Am Inn, Austria on April 20, 1889 (History, 2014). Alois Hitler and Klara Poll were his parents and he was the fourth child of them. His mother loved him very much but his father abuse him due to he wanted to enter the priesthood (Grobman, 1990). After spending four years in Realschule, Linz, he left school when he is 16 years old (Jewish Virtual Library, 2015). It is because he wanted to become a painter (Jewish Virtual Library, 2015). In 1906, he went to Vienna to seek a career in art but rejected by the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (Grobman,1990). After that, he spent six years in Vienna and he had developed his prejudices about jews (Grobman, 1990). In May 1913, he left Vienna and went to Munich. He joined the Sixteenth Bavarian Infantry Regiment when the World War I was broke out and serving as a despatch runner (Jewish Virtual Library, 2015). He showed his ability and awarded Iron Cross for his bravery. He also rose to the rank of lance corporal (Grobman, 1990). In 1918, he was injured by a mustard gas explosion and it caused him blind temporarily (History, 2014). Germany had lost the war when he was in hospital. During the era of Adolf Hitler, Jews were prohibited from occupying important positions in the state, marrying Germans and mistreated by the Nazi regime.

Furthermore, they were inhibiting the Jews to become a patent lawyer as well as doctor and dentist in the organization of the State-run insurance (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 2014).
