             In order to create a perfect society, the government has to be free of corruption and greed. Bellamy states "officials were under a constant temptation to misuse their power for the private profit of themselves or others-(130). This idea was true in the late19th century. The idea that a person can trust their government with all of their affairs seemed strange (130). However, in a utopia, the government is not corrupt or greedy. The society is created so that there is "absolutely no way in which an official could possibly make any profit for himself or any one else by a misuse of power-(130). The idea of a corrupted government has only a historical significance. People were no longer rewarded because of dishonest behavior. They had no reason to be dishonest because it would.
