            Murder for Murder: Why capital punishment deserves to die.
            
             Cruel, barbaric, harsh and unjustifiable are all adjectives that accurately describe heinous acts committed by unlawful criminals. What's worse is we have descended upon their level of destruction and retaliated with an equally if not harsher offence Capital punishment. The only way to stop these unjustly rulings is to abolish capital punishment completely!.
             Crime prevention and innocent convictions:.
             Last year alone there were seventy-one lives taken by the vengeful hands of society. This is a 14.2% increase then the previous year. .
             What this statistic shows is that there is a lack of deterrence in crime. In fact there is substantial evidence that suggests that executions actually increase the murder rate.
             So on what grounds does capital punishment stand for? That is left to be decided. Often jury members are hesitant to convict the accused in murder trials for the possibility of executing an innocent member of society. This also means that criminals walk free. .
             Also it has been suggested that at least 350 people were innocent to a crime they were convicted for. 139 of these people were sentenced to death row and as many as twenty-three were executed.
             Effects on society: .
             Once you add the court costs, initial trails, all the appeals and incarceration on death row, it would cost less to have a person sentenced to life in jail rather than execution. .
             Tax payers are wasting their money with capital punishment. The average death penalty is appealed three times and the average convicted murderer spends twelve years on death row.
             What would happen to society if every crime's punishment was an eye for an eye or in some cases murder for murder?.
             Capital punishment is lowering the value of a human life with every life that is taken. And this is affecting the general population including children today. Capital punishment is brutalizing society.
