Fans

Last Saturday I spent my night at the Commonwealth Stadium watching a bunch of college boys nearly beat themselves to death over what we like to call a football; nevertheless, I have to admit I liked it. When I first arrived I noticed that people here were true diehard wildcat fans; some had there entire bodies painted in blue, while others simply wore a common blue t-shirt. I felt a little out of place with my bright pink shirt on, so I stopped at the first stand I saw and purchased a blue Kentucky shirt, so that I would fit in a little better. I couldn't believe that I was letting myself get caught up in the ridiculous maddest that a true fan possesses. By the end of the night not only had I done an excellent job of fitting in with the crowd, but I had managed to categorize the fans into three groups.
First, are the Kid Rock fans. These fans are usually the ones that you see outside tailgating, even when the game is going on. Most get in such a drunken state of mind that they can't even walk into the stadium, but for the select few that do, they all seem to be in the student section. These fanatical fans are often seen making obscene gestures during the game; most throw up the fashionable middle finger at the opposing team. My uncle once told me that, "to grow old is inevitable, but to grow up is optional," and I truly believe he lives by that statement. For example, he is a forty- five year old man and still sits in the student section because he says the students are more fun to party with, not to mention that he has been kicked out of two games for mooning the opposing team.
The second group consists of the Bobby Knight fans. These fans are true sore losers; if their team doesn't win then they like to take it out on the players. Most of the time subjecting them to as much physical and verbal abuse as possible. Often these hysterical fans are seen throwing ice and food at the players.
