I chose to watch the movie "As Good As It Gets". When the movie opens Melvin, played by Jack Nicholson, is trying to coax a dog into the elevator so he can take it outside to the bathroom. Melvin can't get the dog to follow him so he picks it up and then the dog starts to pee on the floor. Melvin is so upset that he put the dog in the garbage shoot. Then he returns to his apartment. As soon as he enters the apartment he shows his obsessive-compulsive behavior. Melvin does this by turning lock on the door five times and switching the light switch five times. Then he enters into the bathroom and opens his medicine cabinet where he keeps dozens of sealed bars of soap. Melvin proceeds to open one of the sealed bars, wash his hands, throws the bar away, and repeats the process one more time. .
As the movie continues Melvin is at a restaurant. Melvin goes to this restaurant every day, sits at the same table, and has to have the same waitress, Carol Connally played by Helen Hunt. If you think this is bad, Melvin also brings his own plastic silverware in a baggy. But today is a little different for Melvin because someone is already sitting at his table. This make Melvin a little mad. At this point Melvin show that he is type A Obsessive-compulsive. He does this by being verbally aggressive toward the people at his table and also the waitresses. He finally gets the couple to leave the table and can go on with his day. .
Later in the movie Melvin returned to the restaurant but Carol is not there to wait on him. He gets irritated with the waitress that tries to help him and leaves. On his way out he pays a guy twenty dollars to find out Carol's last name so he can see her. When Melvin goes to Carol's apartment, he tells her that she needs to return to work long enough to wait on him. Carol refuses because her son is sick and she needs to be with him. Melvin leaves but he decides that he is going to send a doctor to help Carol's son so she can return to work.
