Freedom

            As director, star and the producer of the epic movie "Brave heart", Mel Gibson makes the promising story of a thirteenth century warrior in a dashing kilt as one of the greatest movies of our time. .
             The story of a kilted warrior, William Wallace who leads the Scots into a long and bloody struggle with the English for there freedom and right to rule there own land. The New York time says, "It is an explosive action movie" and one of the most original. Compared with the movie "Die Hard" brave Heart is more original using spears, swords, and huge rocks as tools of destruction. .
             Throughout the movie William is a warrior with courage and a romantic soul that gives him that extra drive every time he goes to battle. Wallace first gets his thirst for revenge when his beautiful wife is murdered and so Wallace comes back and slits the mans throat in revenge. This is the first bloody scene that the audience receives but it is definitely not the last. After slaying the murderer Wallace does not stop there but goes onto rallying the other tribes to fight against the evil and heartless King Edward. Throughout the movie King Edward known as Long Shanks in the movie, is an evil character that the audience soon grow to love to hate him. Throughout the movie Wallace retaliates against the English and against traitors in his own mist. In one scene Wallace rides his horse into a small bedroom of a sleeping traitor and hits the sleeping man on his head, with a ball chain and then leaps out of the window into the freeing water below and safely swims away. .
             Before such an epic scene happens Wallace makes himself known to the crowd by giving a devastating speech to the frightened and wary Scots at the battle of Sterling. During television commercials the cry of " Freedom" is not truly captured unless you see the whole scene, with Gibson's war paint matching his blue eyes and the handkerchief his loved one gave him before she died.
