Government at a glance

In our modern world there are many forms of government. Some countries have democracies, such as the United States. Other countries have socialism, libertarian societies, republics, monarchies dictatorships and conservative governments. Today the U.S.A. is under a democracy. In our democracy the government plays a large role in our society, but is run for the people and by the people. In our democracy there are 3 branches of government, the judicial, executive, and legislative braches. The executive branch includes the president. The reason that the government is for the people by the people is because of the judicial and legislative branches. The judicial and legislative branches have a system of checks and balances placed on the executive branch and vice verse. The system of checks and balances allows two branches to override another branch. This allows two branches to deem another branch unconstitutional if a law trying to be passed by a branch is wrong. Lastly in a democracy the people elect the officials that are in office. Our democracy is government for the people by the people. Since the Unites States makes up around 99% of the countries that are democracies, there are many other systems of government in the world today that are different from the United States. .
A second type of government is a libertarian government. In a libertarian society the government is set up to take an overpowering role in society. Even though government takes an overpowering role in society, it is highly popular with the poor. The government makes everyone have the same amount of property, money, and social status. Even though this government is highly popular with the poor it is highly regarded from other social standings. People in this government are unable to gain wealth, which makes people unable to be successful in some point of view. People in this government are usually limited in rights, freedom, and therefore their pursuit of happiness.
