The criticism of Crenshaw through the eyes of Paglia

Women want to be at the same level as men so that they are just as powerful and just as important in the everyday society. They can't stand the social injustice, but when they find themselves at the higher position jobs, they are confronted with more men because more men are at the higher position jobs. Paglia talks about how "sexual desire and arousal cannot be fully translated into verbal terms. (52)- This is why men and women misunderstand each other. This probably happened with Anita Hill; she probably took the words of Thomas the wrong way and allowed for herself to be taken advantage of. "Every woman must take personal responsibility for her sexuality (52-53),"" maybe another possibility was that Anita Hill was trying to raise her position of where she was to go even higher by using sex with Thomas. She might have understood that Thomas was in fact at a hormonal state where she could take advantage of the situation and raise her position because she has been double burdened by being black and a woman. Her complaint with the Senate Judiciary Committee was at a time where Clarence Thomas was about to become a member on the supreme court, this could have been her way of revenge against him for not raising her position when they worked together.
Paglia is prominently talking about female education and understanding of situations in where rape could happen. Anita Hill could have got herself out of the situation of being raped or sexually harassed by not bringing it upon herself, whether it is clothes, attitude, flirtyness, and etc. She cannot be too confident about herself and her sexual well-being because women are never safe. According to Paglia, if you study the past, "There never was and never will be sexual harmony (52)- In a sense, men will be men and women will be women, there is a biological purpose for there to be a male and a female and that is procreation. Without sex, there wouldn't be evolutions of humans into who they are today.
