             Golding is a British writer and poet. Golding was born in 1911 and died in 1993. He won a Nobel Prize for literature in 1983. In his books, Golding often deals with.
             evil and emerges. His writings have been described as a kind of dark optimism. .
             My impression from the book: I enjoyed the book. I think it has many important messages in it. I also think that Golding has found a very creative way to describe the line between human and barbaric ways of life. I liked the metaphores he used to bring across his ideas about society. I think it's a very smart and interesting book, which can teach us a lot.
             .
             The main characters: .
             Ralph: A 12 years old. Ralph is chosen by all the other children on the island to be their leader, due to his postivie qualities. He becomes friends with Piggy and together they try to keep the order and democracy on the island. Ralph considers Jack his enemy since he is the exact opposite of him, he's the only common sense that's left on the island after Simon and Piggy die, he tries to fight Jack's barbaric ways but he's not strong and confident enough to fight him. .
             Jack: About Ralph's age. Since the beginning of the book, Jack shows emotions of savagery and anger. He becomes the leader of his choir group, he uses dictatorship as his policy to rule. The children obey him out of fear and eventually they become like him - hunters, wild and angry. He uses fear to overcome his own. He feels in control when the other children do what he wants because they are afraid of him. .
             Piggy: A short and overweight boy who wears glasses and represents order and democracy. He's innocent and sees the world only how he was raised. His glasses is actually a metaphore to show he sees things his own innocent way and he doesn't really see everything like everyone else does. He has asthma, but he is still willing to do some work on the island.
