Key Largo

It all started one beautiful March day as we left our hotel in Key Largo. The sun was shining a brilliant yellow and there was not a cloud in the sky, it was about 60 degrees and there was a slight breeze coming off of the straits. Me and my girlfriend were returning from our wonderful spring break in the keys and heading back to Orlando on this the last day of vacation. It was only about a 6 hour trip home and we were in good spirits, although we dreaded the proposition of returning to school the next day, why can't our spring break be longer? .
With the car all packed up and the checkout complete, we headed out on our journey. All seemed fine at first, we were cruising along and when we reached Miami it looked like we were making great time. But all of that would change very shortly; as something would turn our day upside down. As we were driving along the turnpike just north of Ft. Lauderdale, we were talking and laughing when all of the sudden a car crossed the median and began to flip erratically. The car kept on flipping and finally came to a stop in the swamp on the side of the road. At this point, my instincts took over and I opened my door and just jumped out. My girlfriend freaked out, and began screaming for me to get back in the car, but I could not just leave without checking to see if those people in the car were okay. .
I got up and ran to the swamp area, I began to yell and see if everyone was okay but all I heard was the cries of the 2 children in the back seat. So, I did the only thing that I thought I could, I jumped into the swamp not even thinking about the danger. When I reached the car, I found that the driver and front passenger were unconscious, but the two small children in the back were very alive and crying profusely. I decided that the two in the front seat were in real danger, so I screamed to my girlfriend to call 911. Meanwhile I opened the back door and worked on getting the two little guys out.
