Rough times

Getting into arguments with parents is part of growing up, well at least it was with me. I was a good kid for most of my life but when High School came I started to get into more and more trouble. I made more mistakes and poor decisions. Straight out of high school I got a job with my friend and his father in construction. I still made some poor decisions, which led to a vast amount of arguments with my folks. I know now how stupid and ignorant I was but you can only change the future, which I wanted to do but not in the way it happened.
One fight my parents and I had was the start of something I never imagined. I don't remember how it started but I do remember leaving the house on a rainy and gloomy day with nothing but my work boots and a sleeping bag. I had no clue where or what I was going to do, but I did know I had to go somewhere. I walked up and down the steep hills leaving my house for what seemed like days but it was only an hour or so. I had a friend come pick me up so he could help me figure out what to do. He also worked with me so I knew I could get a ride to work. I ended up at another friends" apartment for about two weeks. That whole two weeks I probably got two hours of sleep between work and all the partying that went on. That continued until my friend and his dad, my boss, told me to stay with them for as long as I needed. Even with as stubborn as I am I gladly accepted. They"re always the kind of people helping out someone and have always had someone staying with them. .
Going from a comfy bed and my own room to sleeping on the living room floor was quite a change but I was lucky to even have a place to stay. I couldn't go back to my parents because that would show them that they where right and I was wrong. I hate being wrong. So I stayed in contact with my brother to let him know I was ok. He even told me when my parents left so could sneak home and grab some clean clothes.
