             Landforms in Egypt include deserts, valleys, and mountains. One very important landform is the Nile Valley. In ancient times, farmers grew crops there because the land was very fertile. The reason the land was fertile was because the Nile River deposited silt on the ground in the valley. There are also numerous waterways in Egypt. Examples include: the Red Sea, Lake Nasser, the Nile River, Lake Idka, and Lake Burullus. Another landform in Egypt is the Sahara Desert. The Sahara is an enormous desert area. The west part of the broad belt of parched land that extends from the Atlantic Ocean eastward past the Red Sea.
             The seasons in Egypt vary. They vary from hot, dry summers to moderate winters. The average rainfall in the Nile Delta is eight inches. Egypt has a large temperature range. The temperatures range from 100 degrees fahrenheit to 40 degrees fahrenheit. Autumn and winter are ideal seasons to visit Egypt when there is mild weather. Temperatures vary between 60 and 80 degrees fahrenheit. The evenings are cool. During April, an occasional wind blows hot sand, which can decrease visibility.

             The capital of Egypt is Cairo. Egypt is located in northern Africa bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Libya and the Gaza strip. The coastline is 2,450 km long. Some countries that border Egypt are Libya and Sudan.
             Egypt is a republic. Egypt became a republic on September 11, 1971. The president of Egypt is Mohamed Hosni Moubarak. Moubarak is Muslim so he will probably stay in the office for a long time. The reason I believe this is because most of Egypt's population is Muslim. Egypt is split into 26 miniature states called governates. Each governate has a governor appointed by the president. Each governor has a council to help him or her; the people elect the counsel. .
             In Egypt the president and the people's assembly make laws and decisions. A people's assembly is practically just like voting.
