Magazine production

3% of the entire population. When applied to the magazine industry, cultural background can influence every aspect of the product. It can affect every thing from who you hire to the topics and information you decide to include in your product.              For example, let's take an African American based magazine company and compare it to a Hispanic based magazine company. Based on my statement above, the African American magazine would, more than likely, have more African American employees than those of white or Asian origin. And the same thing can be said for the Hispanic magazine. This is usually due to "cultural background," but it doesn't stop here. The African American magazine might include articles on topics that are important to that culture, such as more "black" men in the teaching field or even less significant things such as hair and beauty products made for African American women. These things would be included in this type of magazine because this particular magazine is geared towards a black audience. Now , a Hispanic magazine would not focus on topics and products that benefit a black audience because then it would be defeating the purpose of a black magazine. Another difference between the two would be a difference in opinion when it comes to certain important topics. This not only proves to be a cultural difference, but one of different individuals. .
