Gatsby


             Jay Gatzby, birth name James Gatz, the son of poor and unsuccessful farmers, developed into a multi-millionaire. Gatsby smothered himself in popularity to try and block out the memory of the man he was before his change.
             He is a person full of secrets; rumours surround his past and present.
             James Gatz is a man who's unknown soul was left to linger in the past.
             The real James Gatz, grew up in North Dakota; his parents were shiftless"(p.105) and unsuccessful"(p.105) farmers. He never accepted his parents ".his imagination had never really accepted them as parents at all-.
             He could not identify himself with his parents, as they didn't fit in his ideal. His thought is that he is a "Son of God-, who is born to be something better. .
             He "detest- is parents and the poor people, so he turned from James Gatz into the "Great- Gatsby, who is immortal and "untouchable-.
             His great goals (objectives)expected him to leave his home, to enter the world of the super rich people.
             Gatsby created himself to be his own hero, through the eyes of a seventeen year old boy. He began to wear that gold hat and rise in society with money, friends, and a love life he dreamed of returning.
             This was the start of his successful career. On the Lake Superior, the turning pint of his life took place, as he saw the immense yacht of Dan Cody, which is a status symbol of wealth :-. at the specific moment that witnessed the beginning of his career- when he saw Dan Cody's yacht drop anchor over the most insidious flat on Lake Superior- .
             Furthermore, he was unable to accept poverty. He was something better which you can see on the example, that he left college, as he bear the janitorial job. He was outstanding, smart and handsome young boy, who wanted to archive a better and more wealthy life, than his parents. .
