The Origin of the Species held as an icon in biological science has the chapterDifficulties,? with Charles Darwin saying:To suppose that the eye with all its immutable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree.?` In his own confession, he had very little audience compared to his earlier pronouncements and even less who were willing to give up the fallacy. The notion had snowballed and like the boy who cried wolf one can only watch it gobble up the truth behind the facts of life.
Evidence of diversity of life pervades every research field of biology. Interestingly, they do not validate natural selection, or even the random process of inanimate evolving to animate, or simple to complex. They rather point to intelligence far beyond 4.6 billion years.
Fossil record or Paleontology and Rock Record (Geology) have been hailed as foremost document of changes in past life with fossils providing the dimension of time. However, seeing evolution thru them leads one to gaps in the fossil record. Evolution requires intermediate forms between species, and paleontology does not provide them. Consistently, the fossils are missing in all the important places.
Philosophically, geologists are arguing in a circle. The succession of organism is determined by studying remains embedded in the rocks, and the relative ages of the rocks are determined by the remains of organisms they contain.
The intelligent layman now suspects circular reasoning in the use of rocks to date fossils and fossils to date rocks. The geologist has not given a good reply.
Isotopic Age dating reached the point where they are subject to very small errors of measurement, less than 1%. It is possible, even probable, that materials which give radioactive dates of tens of thousands of radioactive carbon years could have been true ages of many fewer calendar years.
