The average age of survivors is 35, and the average age of non-survivors is 49. It affects two and a half males to one woman and the average patient with the disease is 38-44.              When someone recovers or survives necrotizing fasciitis they are almost lways scarred and need skin grafting to repair lost skin or tissue.
