The title of this book is "The Secret of the City Cemetery" it was written by the author Patrick Bone. The main theme of the story is about a boy Called Willard who is a bully, and has no friends and is lonely, he gets all his joy from playing joke's on people.

The story starts when he told Wylma Jean Kist that a subway train had knocked down her mum. Willard thought this was funny, but Wylma took week's to recover from his joke. One night he saw some workmen digging graves, and Willard thought he would take advantage of this, as the graves were situated next to "Mark Twain Middle School". One night he snuck into the cemetery and went into one of the graves and stayed until it got darker and the children went out of the school grounds. Willard shouted from the grave "help me! I"m still alive! Nooo, nooo". The children ran home and tried to tell their parents, but they just thought overactive imaginations. After a while they had got used to it. But one night he got caught sneaking into the cemetery again by Henry, (Henry) the caretaker snuck up on Willard and whispered "I know what you"re up to boy"! Willard jumped up with fright and said, " get away". Henry just left after saying; "you don't know what you"re getting into boy".
Willard stopped visiting for a while, but had business elsewhere. He (Willard) vandalised some of the school property but got caught and had a week's detention.
It was Hallowe"en night and Mark Twain Middle School had a party, Willard went to the graveyard for the occasion. .
He put the stepladders down and stayed low. He shivered and cursed the cold, then he suddenly heard loud footsteps, and he was getting ready to shout out, but realised the steps were from inside the cemetery. He stood still and laid low because the footsteps were coming directly to his grave. Something long, large and black was coming over his grave, and it took him a split second to se it was a coffin.
