The deviance of a man

Deviance is behavior or characteristics that some people in a society find offensive or reprehensible and that generates disapproval, punishment, condemnation of, or hostility toward, the actor or possessor. Well this definition clearly states the way people feel about one of my closest friends when she indulges in her devious acts. For both her safety and my own I will refer to her as "Juelz" throughout this entire paper. Personally I think "Juelz" is a product of the Role Strain Theory when it comes to her act of Deviance because I think she knows that people see what she is doing is wrong but she thinks it's too much work to be "normal" so to speak. .
All in all I don't look at "Juelz" as being a deviant character, it is just that she has this one certain act that she likes to entertain that people who are "normal" in society may deem as deviant because she doesn't do exactly as they do. "Juelz's" act that she likes to entertain is that she often dresses like one of the guys. To me, and the people that know her, it really isn't a big deal but when we go out into the community other people (mostly women) tend to stare at her almost in a confused manner every time she passes by. The reason that I think people tend to be confused about her when they see her is that she is such a pretty girl and she dresses as baggy and rugged as the rest of her male counterparts and to them girls are supposed to be elegant and dainty and should not "do as the guys do".
For instance one time a group of my friends decided to go to the mall (3 guys including myself and "Juelz"). At home this just would have been a normal trip to the mall for some shopping but this time we were in Virginia Beach a place where no one had ever seen us so of course you know eyes were following us. As Soon as we walked in a couple that may have been in their early forties saw us and immediately looked at "Juelz". The way that the couple looked I knew that they were going to say something to one of us and sure enough they did.
