Girls get better grades in school on average than boys and tend to live longer and healthier. In actuality, men are the ones lagging behind today. If that is the case, why do women have to fight for equal pay and for the barrier of "male stereotyping and preconceptions of women- to be removed? (Women).
             There is always been a difference in the way males and females accelerate in society. It starts off in school were boys are allowed to be rowdy and rough. Girls, on the other hand, were taught to be emotional and submissive. Judy Mann is a newspaper columnist and public speaker from Washington D.C. Mann is also the author of the article "How We Raise Boys and Girls Differently "And Why It's Wrong-. The article gives the reader pointers on how girls should be treated. One of these is: "Expect girls to do well in math and science as boys, and encourage them to take the highest, hardest levels of math and science (531)."" If anything, female students should be give more of an opportunity to answer questions and do things for themselves.
             As our female children grow older, graduate and go to college, sexual separations become more apparent. They have what is called the glass ceiling in the workforce which prevents women from progressing as quickly as men, and if they do get promoted, it takes them longer and with more of a struggle than their male co-workers. According to labor department statistics, women earn 74 cents for every dollar that men earn. (Women).
             People try to give excuses on why women are not as successful as men.
