Child Abuse

Child Abuse is deemed as one of the biggest controversies in the United States. The problem has become more controversial with each passing decade. It is stated by many that parents are no longer responsible for the discipline of their children, instead the government raises the children. Since the government has become more involved in the up bringing of our children the American society has become more cruel, violent, ill mannered, and unstable. It is very difficult to decide what qualifies as child abuse. There are so many cases where children were and maybe still are being abused it seems there was nothing done to protect the child until it was to late, but at the same time a child can be torn away from a loving family because a person has seen the parent(s) disciplining the child. There is a thin line between child abuse and discipline, but the lack of discipline as become the downfall of America's current society.
The crime rate has increased with each passing decade. Many people say the responsibility lies with the government in turn makes it very hard to bring up our children the way we see fit. For example you have a child being rude and disrespectful, and the parent spanks the child. Why should that mother or father have to worry about being reported, sent to jail, and having their family being pulled apart, also the possibility of never having their family the same again. When a child is growing up without discipline, and any real form of punishment there is a greater chance of that child having problems with the law later in life. As it is said in the Bible if you spare the rod you spoil the child. Now a days a child gets caught stealing they get a nice shaking of the finger and a slap on the wrist and they are on their way to doing it again, if you tired that about maybe 20 - 30 years ago the child would have to stay at the store until the parent came to bring him/her home and introduced them to a belt, then they still had to go and volunteer at the store they stole from.
