            Martin Luther King's four words, "I have a dream," meant and still mean an enormous amount to this world. I know his actions and speeches have touched my own life and more than anything ¾everybody else's, even though some don't realize that fact. Each day I see those words come to life and conquer those around me. It may just be kids of various races eating lunch at a table in the cafeteria together, a cultural television show, or the mall where everybody can mix and not feel segregated. Those are living examples of the speech and desire of the man who made it happen.
             I believe Dr. King was directing those words to more than just the black people. He intended it to be for all races and skin colors that the world creates. The whole point was to encourage everybody to make peace with each other. I think he wanted everyone to appreciate one another for who they were and what good they could bring. He didn't want us to glance at the surface and turn the other way. If we did things that way, there would be no possibilities for equality, peace, and more importantly, the future. .
             Anything and everything starts with your inner self. It took one person to have this idea and proclaim it to those who would have faith in it. After Dr. King showed the power and strength he had in bringing blacks and whites together others began to follow. He was the leader of it all and held the belief the strongest. This man didn't back down or weaken his knees to sit himself down. I'm sure the process was not easy but he stuck to his goal and didn't think about how tough it was to get to what his mind was set on. .
             We could only guess what would happen if Dr. King had not said those four short words. Maybe we would still be in separated schools, restaurants, bus seats, and apart from the world we're used to right now. I think his words are destined not only for the present but for the days to come.
