My journey with myself

             My Journey with Myself.
Throughout life, human nature has a tendency to persuade people to hold grudges against other individuals. Grudges can be a relationships worst nightmare. When a person continues to dislike someone else, for something they did in the past, it can be disastrous. Unfortunately, I learned one of life's hard lessons, in this subject, this summer. My father was diagnosed with cancer, and doctors only gave me six months to grow up and see my father and my "daddy". .
My father, Thomas Richard M, had just turned sixty June 8th, 2002. He was currently married to my step-mom, Diane. Along with myself, he also has 3 sons( I am the baby-girl). Growing up, he was the oldest, his parents also had three sons and a daughter. My dad had worked in the car business for over 25 years. He was a known man in the community and many people admired him; unfortunately I missed out on a lot of that because we were both to stubborn to admit our faults and move on.
My mother and my father divorced when I about 2. When I was young, I never really had a close relationship with my dad. It's not like we didn't love each other, there were just too many inside influences pushing us apart. It wasn't until I started High School that my father and I began to work on a closer relationship. Looking back, I cherish the times we spent together during that time period.
In July 2002, my father was diagnosed with liver and colon cancer. When my family got the news, everybody was devastated. My daddy was giver six months to live. My family and I spent every minute we could with him, but unfortunately I had already lost too many years with him in the past. On August 11, 2002, I received a call from my mom saying I needed to get to the hospital. I immediately rushed over there, within the hour, my daddy passed away. Being sixteen and losing a parent is very hard, but there have been so many things that I have learned.
