What factors led you to decide that graduate education in management would be most helpful to your career development?.
Burning leadership qualities were always there through out my life. During high school, I participated in numerous extra curricular activities including presiding over "Youth Congress Students Seminar" and holding the " Discipline Captain of the School" post. But they became prominent during my sophomore year of graduation at JNTU Hyderabad, when I was chosen as most popular student of the year. I was made to lead as a hostel representative for the girls" wings of the college. I actively motivated people and made them responsible for different activities coordinating at every step. I was an emphatic listener and mentor for my juniors who turned to me for direction in academics or personal issues. That was a great experience teaching me the values of inter-personal relations, openness of head and heart, logic and intuition. That was the time I had made up my mind of becoming a leader in a field of my choice, Technology.
I have always been fascinated by technology. Being a part of Tata Consultancy Services was a major learning experience in itself that equipped me with newer technologies. These 4 years at work laid down a strong foundation for learning various business functions intricate to the field of Information Technology. I am presently working as a bridge between the workforce at Chennai, India and the clients at GE-Power System, Schenectady, New York and concentrating on improving the collaboration between the two organizations. I coordinate the teams taking up issues from multiple perspectives and working out solutions and alternatives that move us ahead of the bottlenecks in both team and time management. One of the projects that I had coordinated got selected as project of the quarter for 4th quarter of 2002. This paved way for customizing the tool for other teams across GE that brought more business to TCS.
