George and Lennie are important characters in the novel Of Mice and Men, yet they are completely different. George and Lennie are pretty good friends, but it does not make them equal. They have too many differences between them. The major differences between them are physical and appearance. Next, they have a different point of view about responsibility. Finally, they have different ambitions.
George and Lennie have different physical attributes and different personalities. George is a small, thin and bony guy. Every part of him looks strong and slim. He has a tough looking face and tired eyes. He is a little bossy and mean. He does not like anyone telling him what to do because he feels he is responsible enough to do everything right. He is quick to do everything, because of his small speedy body. On the other hand, Lennie is an unusual guy. He is huge, with heavy arms and does everything sluggishly. Lennie has a loose face with big pale eyes. He is the opposite of George. He is obedient, and he waits till George tells him what to do or what to say before he can even do something. .
George is a mature man, but Lennie is not. George is aware of all the troubles that one might provoke if one does not think before doing something. He likes doing everything in the right way so that no one would tell him anything, but sometimes he is just too demanding with Lennie. As a matter of fact, he is mean to Lennie because Lennie does not understand that he must avoid problems. George knows that Lennie would never be able to comprehend why he should not get in trouble because he thinks like a kid. Lennie is the contrary of George. He has a child's mentality, but a grown up body. He thinks in playing as it is usual with children, but he works very hard as most adult's do. However, he would love to be petting furry things if this was his option for it is what makes him very happy.
