Euthanasia

An individual is born with rights. They have rights to liberty, in other words this includes the right of owning his or her life; he is the possessor of his life. For example, he can do whatever he wants with his material items, his possessions, such as buying a house and then selling it a year later or in ten years. That would also mean he can end his life if he wants to, providing he has the right reasons. In the situation of a person having a terminal illness which is causing him unbearable pain, strapped to the hospital bed with wires and tubes connecting to him, unable to move or do much of anything except exist. He has the right to end his life so he chooses because his life belongs to him and no one else; he has born rights of liberty as a human being in which he can decide for himself if he wants to live or not. He does not want to endure the pain, but instead, to assuage it by ending his life. But what if a person decides that he wants to die, and someone does not think that this is a good decision, what right does the opposing person have to tell him that he cannot do this? "It is clear that a patient's decision to ask for a cessation in treatment, reflecting his own preference for death rather than for a continuation of discomfort or suffering, must be respected, barring exceptional circumstances- (Behnke 17). Therefore, that individual's decision should be carried out because he has that right to his own personal decision, which is only one of many reasons why Euthanasia should be legalized.
One would not like to be strapped to their bed for the rest of their life that would defeat the meaning of life. People, who maybe because of a serious illness, are extremely depressed partly because they want to live their lives, but know that they are not capable of such an activity. Since they recognize that enjoying life in those ways is no longer possible, they may want an easy way out "Euthanasia.
