Tomorrow When the War Began

Tomorrow When the War Began is written in Ellie's perspective. She explained this in the beginning of the novel that Robyn raised the idea of writing this novel, and other people agree with the idea. Ellie said that she would be honest with everything that happened and will be honest to everyone in her writing. But the writing doesn't satisfy other characters because it was in Ellie's perspective, there are also some other unbalance parts that occurred because of the writing is in Ellie's perspective. .
One thing that is unbalance in this novel which is very obvious to readers is the amount of time given to each character. As reading through the novel, it is clear that some characters were given a lot of pages and were focused on more than the other characters. For example, characters Fi, Homer and Lee have vast amount of writings compare to other characters like Robyn, Kevin, Corrie and Chris. Ellie spend a lot of times are describing characters like Fi and Homer. This is why readers can easily observe how these characters develop and change throughout the story. The other characters that were given less amount of writing were harder for the readers to see how they develop as the story progress. One thing is interesting that is Corrie wasn't given a lot of writing from Ellie, but Corrie was actually the best friend of Ellie. She was also the one that decided to go to Hell for the camp. It was interesting and weird for Ellie to write so little about Corrie. We can understand why Ellie gave a lot of writing for Fi, Homer and Lee. Fi is the one that Ellie see as a role model, Homer is the one that Ellie had crush on and were her playmates. But as Ellie's best friend, Corrie didn't have a lot of writings about her, this is something weird in the novel. For Robyn, Kevin and Chris, they also didn't have much writing as well, and this lead to the unbalance amount of time given to each character in the novel.
