             Independence is what makes us different from others. Its something unique and special to have and maintain. Canada's independence from Britian is a defining moment. They evolve over the years to become one of the best countries. Showing Britian and many other countries that they are capable of being independant and willingly to help in big issues that concern the world. Canada wanted to be a independent country, thats why they participated in these major events .In WWII they proved themselves and the Triple Entente that they're army is very capable of fighting. By winning the The Vimy Ridge Battle in 1917. And later on in the Alsaka .
             Boundary Dispute.

             The Alsaka Boundary Dispute wasn't a major issue but it concerned Canada a lot if Canada won the dispute it would gain another province as well as claims to the Klondike Gold Rush that's why it was important to, the US too. The issue was whether Canada or the US should claim Alsaka. Canada and US tried to reason and comprise but they got nowhere. Finally in 1903 the Hay/Herbert Treaty called for a six member tribunal, to make the final decision. There would be three Americans, two Canadians and a British member. This seemed resonable but Canada disagreed to the idea. Saying that Britian shouldn't be any part of the issue. That the dispute was between Canada and US .But going into the tribunal Canada was pretty confident that they would recieve Britians vote. That wasnt the outcome though, the British member was under pressure and sided with the US. Claims to Alsaka would be given to the US. In a three to two decision. That dispute was a spark for Canada, that gave them the courage to stand up to the .

             Canada over the years was portrayed as a little child under Great Britian. That would all change over the course of the years. On April 9th to 12th 1917, Canada proved themselves and mnay other countries that they could achieve something. What they achieved was a victory of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
