Rights of the Second Amendment

The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.

The Second Amendment reads," A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."(Cottrol,p.65) Now the bill of rights was created to protect the people of the United States of America, and I can and will prove to you that by limiting the rights of gun owners and dealers it is infringing their rights as U.S. citizens and should not be tolerated.
I would like to tell you a story about a woman and the benefits of the right to bear and carry arms. Debbie Danvers, a mother of two decided one day to get a handgun to protect her family when a murder took place in her hometown of Gainesville, Florida. The 42 year old woman said that she felt better the minute that she held her new handgun. Although Debbie never had to use her handgun she was responsible and did what was the best for her family, and that is one of the many reasons for the Second Amendment, to make you feel safe no matter where you are.(Japenga p.52-).
In 1986 a study was done analyzing the house hold incidents from 1978 to 1983. The study showed that through the 398 household incidents that occurred in those five years that 1.3 percent were accidental deaths, 4.6 percent were homicides, and 37 percent were suicides. A gun in the home of a woman is 43 times more likely to be used against her rather then against her attacker. "I don't think, in good conscience, I could advise a woman to get a handgun. .
             Ben Jackson 2.
He also said that most crimes involving woman occur away from the home. So in Ms. Danver's case she may have been better off using another devise, possibly an alarm or simply dialing 911, but as a U.S. citizen she still has an option to use a firearm if she so desires.(Japenga, p.52-).
I now want you to think back to the early days of immigration in the United States.
