The angle and short is constantly changing so that when the question is being asked it's on the host totally then swapping back and forth from the couple to him, to see their expressions and what they might be saying to decide the answer. As the frame is changing regularly it keeps the audience's attention as it's always showing different things.
Special effects are used a lot in the title sequence. The colours in the sequence are all neon colours, green, purple and silver, the colours found on bank notes. It's all very futuristic with the use of colours, intricate patterns are woven on the screen around a pound sign, everything on the show is based around money and especially the pound sign, which is used a lot - faces of previous contestants are in the sequence but are in shadow so as not to distract from the colours and shapes being woven. The title sequence is interesting and different from any other game shows: as it is interesting people are happy to watch it and don't get bored. .
Chris Tarrant and the contestants can always be heard clearly by the audience, so we always know what is happening. The audience at the show are asked by the producers to stay quiet, only clapping when the couple get a question correct, so that apart from the occasional cough, the only people talking are the host and the contestants. The studio audience are kept in nearly total darkness when questions and answers are given, the audience at home can only just make out their faces. There are spotlights constantly shining on the host and couple. Only when they get a question correct, are walking on or off the stage, do all the lights instantly come up, so the audience can clearly be seen. This ensures that the stage is the focus of the audiences at home and in the studio. If you can't see the audience you won't bother to look away from the stage, to see their reactions to the questions and comments.
