The introduction of the film industry has converted several well-known pieces of literature into exceptional movies. A well-written book contains all of the key elements required to produce a successful movie, such as, an exhilarating plot, distinctive characters, etc. Many best selling books and plays have made their way on to the "big screen", and several, are on their way. Movies are fascinating and tend to attract audiences, but they can be misleading when portraying the similarities between the books. It depends solely on the director, who controls the extent of the resemblance between the two, and manages to accurately present it on the screen. In 1971, Polonskis in a form of a movie released one of William Shakespeare's well-known play "Macbeth". Some scenes were altered or removed, but they were only changed to make the transition from the book to a full-length movie successful. Movies and books are fundamentally different in the way they tell a story. Books tend to make your imagination work. They leave it up to your imagination to fill in the blanks. They let you form the visions of witches, medieval castles etc. in your own mind. Films are much more direct and clear when it comes to portraying a scene. In a book several lines of distinct explanation is needed for the reader to appreciate the scene, whereas in a movie the same set of information can be presented in an instant with the audience successfully understanding what it is they are seeing. Shakespeare described the battle between Macbeth and Young Siward in Act 5 scene 7, but the reader had to create their own images, Polonskis on the other hand, left nothing to the imagination and presented the brutal sword fight in his movie.
